Sports Injuries- What a pain/ not again!

The disappointment and frustration of being sidelined through injury, the agony of hurting your back, twisting a knee, wrenching an elbow or any other trauma can take its toll. Whether it's an elite sport or backyard cricket it still hurts and nobody likes to miss out. The first question - How can I get back to normal as fast as possible?

As a general rule treatment for sports injuries relies on the R.I.C.E principle.

Acupuncture can also help speed up the recovery time and gets to the point of the problem quicker.

Injury will usually involve one or more of the following- bruising, inflammation, swelling, restriction. Acupuncture can either work directly on the site of the pain or on a related area away from the traumatised site. Your body has the ability to produce its own pain killers (endorphins) and anti-inflammatory and anti-stress hormones. Acupuncture helps to stimulate the body to try to get that action line working quicker. The sooner your acupuncture plan is put into action the faster you will be back on the field.

Acupuncture will help lessen bruising, reduce swelling and inflammation, increase range of movement, reduce pain and spasms and reduce healing time by increasing blood circulation.

Acupuncture can also help in conjunction with other chinese medicine therapies like cupping, massage, moxibustion, electro-stimulation, herbs and external balms.

Think about it- take action and get back into it a lot quicker

Don't drop the ball- get back into action quicker
